When I got the opportunity to photograph a wedding with Michelle Lange up in Lake George, I could not agree fast enough. I had remembered family trips up to this gorgeous lake, and even when I was little I could appreciate just how vast and stunning the scenes truly are. Tucked away in the hills is a stone castle called the Inn at Erlowest. This venue is fit for any bride looking for the perfect ever after. I was blown away by the love between Christie and Matt, the awesome color scheme picked by Christie, and the almost fake-looking low clouds and sailboats which make these photos some of my favorite to date.
I hung out with Matt and his groomsmen for most of the afternoon. Christie wrote Matt the sweetest note, and when asking Matt if he was nervous, he replied that no, he wasn't...that he has been waiting for this day for a LONG time. Since we were the first to arrive to the church, there was a lot of time to reflect before the ceremony. Waiting with Matt and his brother Bryan in the wings of the church was an experience I'll never forget. They told me the story of how Matt ran around finding the perfect ring for Christie, and the two joked around together waiting for the ceremony to begin. As a photographer, I find being present at these quiet, happy moments in people's lives to be the favorite part of my job by far.
I LOVE all of Christie's details, don't you? My favorites include the hand-cut wine corks for table card holders, the adorable flags for the straws and signature drinks, and the made-from-scratch stack of Tiffany boxes to hold all the cards from Matt and Christie's guests! Perfection.
Loved every minute of being a part of this awesome day. Thank you to Christie, Matt and Michelle for being such great company. You should have seen little Michelle jump up and down on that dock to make sure it was safe for Christie and Matt...it was priceless! xoxo Jessa
